Maxine Hauser

Coastal Recycling Coordinator

Georgia native Maxine Hauser graduated from Georgia Southern University in 2021 with a focus in conservation and marine science. Since then, she has dedicated herself to a wide variety of research projects throughout the US.

From studying freshwater mussels to raptors, sea turtles and even the canadian lynx, Maxine has found herself most interested in coastal resilience and oyster reef ecology. These brought her to Savannah, GA, where her new efforts in community engagement, public outreach, and networking with oyster experts have bolstered her dedication to Georgia coastal science.

Maxine's biggest hobbies outside of work are cooking, birding, and snorkeling. She hopes to return to school for a master's degree in applied shorebird habitat or oyster reef restoration..
